Duplicating an Existing Submission

Introducing the ability to duplicate an existing submission. This will save time when creating a new submission by letting you keep all the details and assets used in the existing submission.

Duplicating an existing submission is easy and can be accessed in the actions menu (3 dots) of an existing submission in the top right of the page. Note that only users that have the 'Edit' permission for submissions can perform this action.

When duplicating, you can decide if you wish to carry over any assets as well. You can also decide whether you want to bring over all or only the current asset version, all asset versions, or only approved ones.

Licensor users (who have the 'Approve' permission for submissions) can also select the stage to which the duplicated submission will go.

After the decision on assets has been confirmed, you are taken to the 'Add Submission' form, which is pre-filled with data from the duplicated submission.

Fields on the form are based on the current workflow template. The duplicate submission uses the same workflow template that the existing one does. This cannot be changed

Once you are done, click 'Duplicate' in the top-right corner, which will take you to the Draft before officially submitting.

Important Notes

  • If the duplicator is a licensee, then the submission always goes to the first stage.

  • If the duplicator is a licensor, then the submission goes to the stage they selected in the previous step (meaning that the fields on the form are pulled from that stage in the template).

The submission is now in the Draft stage. You can edit any information and assets in the submission form before officially submitting the submission.

Comments, tasks, milestones, assignees, and linked submissions are not carried over from the duplication. However, if the duplicated submission meets a condition for an automation, then the appropriate action will still be triggered.
