Set Stages for Contracts

Created by Francesco Ilardi, Modified on Mon, 1 May, 2023 at 9:23 PM by Francesco Ilardi

Users can assign a stage to a contract and filter the contracts by stages in the list view. This allows for improved organization and a much more efficient way of searching and navigating through contracts, especially for contracts that go through various stages before execution.

Below is a guide that will walk you through how to edit a contract stage and filter the 'Contracts' tab by stage type.

Editing Contract Stage

Add/edit the contract stage by following the steps below:

1. Click on the 'Contracts' tab on the sidebar to navigate to the contracts list view.

2. Click on the contract that you would like to set the stage for.

3. Once you are on the contracts detail page, click on the drop-down menu labeled 'Contract Stage' located at the top-right shown below.

4. The dropdown will provide a list of four different stages to choose from: Prospect, Deal Negotiation, Agreement out, and Executed. Choose the option that pertains to the contract you are editing.

5. Once you click on the option, it will automatically save the stage to the contract. You are now done editing the stage of the contract.

Filtering Contracts Based on the Stage

Now that you've edited a contract stage for the first time, we will discuss how to filter your 'Contracts List' view based on a specified stage.

1. Within the 'Contracts List' view, click on the 'Add filter' button located under the search bar shown below.

2. Once the drop-down is expanded, you can either scroll down the list and search for 'Contract Stage' or do it the easier way by typing in the term within the search bar.

3. Once you find the 'Contract Stage' option, click on it.

4. Choose the condition base. In this example, we will choose 'is' to find all contracts within the negotiation stage.

5. Once you select a condition, a drop-down will reveal itself. Select the stage that you would like to apply to the condition. In this example, we want to filter out all contracts that are in the 'Deal Negotiation' stage.

6. Once you click on an option, the list will automatically filter out any contracts that do not match your filter. You will now be shown a list of all contracts that match your filter. Below, we see all the contracts that have the status of 'Deal Negotiation.'
