Creating and Editing a Dashboard

While our three standard Dashboards (Approval, Legal, and Finance) provide a wealth of predefined information, we also offer limitless customization possibilities by creating new Dashboards to ensure that you get the most out of your data.

To start, click on the 'Create Custom Dashboard' button in the top-right corner from your default Dashboard (or any other one you may be viewing).

A popup will appear that prompts you to enter a name for this Dashboard. We'll go with 'Example Dashboard' for this. Click 'Create' to continue.

You'll then see your new (empty) Dashboard. Click 'Edit Dashboard,' and then 'Add Tiles' to start adding the individual data modules, or 'Tiles.'

Creating a Dashboard Tile with 'Explores'

The first step of creating a Tile is to choose the app module that you're looking to explore, or 'Explores.'

An Explore is a starting place for querying your data. When you are creating/editing tiles, you will see the list of available views to create visualizations.

We currently offer six default Explores that tie into the different Brainbase modules:

  • Company Info

  • Contract Info

  • Product Info

  • Property Info

  • Sales Reports

  • Submissions

We'll choose 'Submissions' for this example, which will allow us to pull specific submissions-related datapoints.

This will take you to the 'Edit Tile' page, where you can give your new tile a name and select the fields you'd like to include from the lefthand menu. We'll name this tile 'Submissions by Stage.'

Anything that you select there will appear under 'Data' on the right. You can also choose to create a pivot table from this data point or use it to filter by clicking their associated icons on the list.

You'll need to choose a 'Measure' to set against this. Here, the only option we have is 'Number of Unique Submissions.'

Choose the type of visualization you'd like. You can choose anything from a bar graph, pie chart, line graph, and more! We chose a bar graph for this example.

Once you've added your data and visualization, you're ready to preview your tile! Click the blue 'Run' button to start the calculations, and once it's finished, your preview will appear under 'Visualization.'

Once you're satisfied with the look of your tile, click 'Save.'

Adding the Tile to Your Dashboard

Now that your first tile has been created, you'll be returned to your Dashboard. You can then either choose to repeat the process by creating as many tiles as you'd like or click 'Save' to limit the Dashboard to this one tile.

Editing a Dashboard

To edit a custom Dashboard, click on the three-dot icon in the top-right corner, and then 'Edit Dashboard.' You'll find the 'Download' and 'Move to Trash' options under this same menu, as well.

From there, you can add a new tile, and even move or resize tiles wherever you'd like. You can also adjust the tiles themselves in the following ways:

  • Edit (takes you back to the create-tile flow)

  • Hide Title

  • Add Note

  • Duplicate Tile

  • Delete

Once you've made your edits, make sure to click 'Save' in the top-right corner.
