A core feature in Brainbase is the ability for licensors and licensees to collaborate on product submissions, which brings up an important real-world question: Who's actually manufacturing this product? 

It's up to the licensee (or agents working on behalf of the licensee) to submit the details and audit reports for the manufacturers they'd like to use for the licensor's approval. 

Once the manufacturer has been approved by the licensor, they can then be associated with preexisting submissions or added directly to new ones (depending on the workflow template configurations). 

Note: This is a permissions-based ability. If you don't see the 'Add Manufacturer' button at the applicable stages, please check with your licensor to have them review your user role. 

A manufacturer can be submitted on the 'Contract Details' page under the 'Manufacturers' tab by clicking the 'Add Manufacturer' button. 

The following modal will appear for you to add the pertinent manufacturer details: 

Once you've clicked 'Save,' you can see that the submitted manufacturer has a PENDING status while it awaits review by the licensor. 

It is now also possible to add manufacturers under the 'Submission Details' page under the 'Manufacturers' tab. You can either create a new manufacturer record or associate this submission with a preexisting (approved!) manufacturer. 

Submitting a manufacturer no longer immediately needs a file to be uploaded and a validity period to be provided. Instead, a country is required (to help immediately assess risks based on country).

Once you've filled in the required specifications, you can see it displayed as 'Pending' in the 'Manufacturers' tab on the 'Contract Details' page. The licensor will now be able to review what you've submitted and either approve or reject the manufacturer.

The licensor can assign the licensee tasks that are linked to this manufacturer as well. In this example, the licensor has added a task called 'Upload Factory Audit Report.' You can click on this task to be taken to the task detail page.

You can upload the document and edit the status in the top-right corner.

The licensor can also raise issues with the licensee about the manufacturer. Licensees can view and address these issues as well. You can click on this issue to be taken to the issue detail page.
