Migrating Royalty Rates

--- BEFORE STARTING ROYALTY RATES SHEET TAB ---

 

  • Navigate to the sheet tab at the bottom of the Excel sheet titled 'Royalty Rates.'

  • Please make sure there is a corresponding contract number for each royalty rate according to the contract number. 

  • If a contract has different types of Royalty Rates with conditional logic, each Royalty Rate type and condition should be on a separate row/line. 

  • Make sure to include the unique identifier for that royalty type to determine what royalty rate gets applied where (i.e. certain royalty rate for certain distribution channels).

Contract Number

  1. The corresponding contract number that the royalty rate belongs to from the contracts sheet tab.

Royalty Rate

  1. The royalty rate (% or currency amount).

  2. For contracts with multiple royalty rates, each royalty rate has to have some unique identifier to know what condition should apply that rate.

  3. For contracts with multiple royalty rates - add each separate royalty rate on a new row with the corresponding contract number it belongs to. *Important* - Each royalty rate must have a unique identifier to determine under which condition to apply each royalty rate.

Royalty Type (Net Sales, Gross Sales, Flat Fee per Unit, Cost)

  1. The royalty rate type based on the options provided above 

Rate Type (Standard, FOB)

  1. Is it a standard royalty rate applied to sales in conventional distribution channels or a rate applied to FOB sales? 

  2. Please use the available options provided in the column header: Standard, FOB.

Condition Base (Units Sold, Net Amount Sold, Price, Calendar Year)

 

  1. Is this royalty rate applied only if certain conditions are met i.e if the price of the product is higher than $20.00? 

  2. Please use available options provided in the column header: Units Sold, Net Amount Sold, Price, Calendar Year.

Condition (Equals, Is lower than, Is lower than or equal to, Is greater than, Is greater than or equal to)

  1. Fill this only if you have a 'Condition Base.'

  2. Please use available options provided in the column header: Equals, Is lower than, Is lower than or equal to, Is greater than, Is greater than or equal to

Condition Amount

  1. Fill this only if you have a 'Condition Base.' 

Categories

  1. List of categories that the royalty rate applies to.

  2. Leave this empty if the royalty rate applies to all categories in this contract.

  3. The category names provided have to be an exact match to category names within Brainbase including the parent category name(s). 

  4. Category Tree: Parent category followed by Subcategories

  5. Formatting: Parent Category + ">" + Subcategory + "," + Subcategory + "," 

  6. Example: "Apparel > Socks, Apparel > Headwear > Hats"

Territories, separated by commas

  1. List of territories that the royalty rate applies to. 

  2. Leave this empty if the royalty rate applies to all territories in this contract

  3. Formatting: Separate each Distribution Channel by a comma

Distribution Channels, separated by commas

  1. List of distribution channels that the royalty rate applies to 

  2. Leave this empty if the royalty rate applies to all territories in this contract

  3. The distribution channel names provided have to be an exact match to distribution channel names within Brainbase including the parent channel name(s). 

  4. Formatting: Separate each Distribution Channel by a comma
