How do I clear my cache?

Clearing your cache is generally the same process for most popular web browsers with minor differences in each step. Here, we will walk you through exactly how to clear your cache within the most popular web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.


Note: Clearing your cache will require sites to reload images and data, meaning that initial page-load times may take a bit longer. Clearing your cookies will sign you out of websites and will require you to log back in.

Google Chrome

1. At the top right, click the more options button.



2. Navigate to 'More tools' > 'Clear browsing data.'


3. Select 'All time.' 


4. Check 'Cached images and files.'

5. Click 'Clear data.'



Mozilla Firefox

1. Click the hamburger menu icon. 


2. Select 'Options.'


3. Select the 'Privacy & Securitypanel.


4. In the 'Cookies and Site Datasection, click 'Clear Data…'


5. Make sure the 'Cached Web Content' box is checked. Click the 'Clear' button.





1. With Safari open, navigate to 'Safari' > 'Preferences...' at the navigation bar of your desktop.



2. A pop-up window will appear, click on 'Advanced.' At the bottom of that page, make sure the 'Show Develop menu in menu bar' box is checked.


 3) Navigate to 'Develop' located at the top navigation bar. Then, click on 'Empty Caches.'





Microsoft Edge

1. Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner.


2. Click on Settings. 


3. On the sidebar, click on 'Privacy, search, and services.'


4. Under 'Clear browsing data,select 'Choose what to clear.'



5. Choose 'All time' from the 'Time rangedrop-down menu.



6. Choose 'Cached images and files.'

7. Select 'Clear now.'
